Filter connectors are used to provide space-saving solutions for EMI problems in numerous military and commercial applications, including avionics systems, satellites, missiles, and communication and control systems. A low-pass filter connector integrates capacitors and ferrite coils into the connector body. The type of capacitor commonly used in filter connectors for military or avionics applications is a planar array, which is an efficient filter at high frequencies (> 1 GHz).
